Dylan Sunshine Waisman (she / they) is an itaukei (native Fijian), Jewish, Nepalese, and Solomon Islander queer and neurodivergent multi-passionate creative. They practice handpoke tattooing photography, writing, researching, and are an artist in any medium they can get their hands into.

Dylan is drawn to tattooing as a pathway to connect more deeply with her Fijian ancestors and the Fijian community through the ancient female skin marking tradition of veiqia.

They grew up in so-called "Vancouver" on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations and have recently moved to Aotearoa to immerse themselves in the pasifika diaspora and tattoo revitalization communities. Dylan started their career in journalism, and then as an Indigenous rights and environmental lawyer. Now they are dreaming of projects that combine it all; Indigenous world-building, queer and Indigenous histories, art, storytelling, and community gathering.
